Aldo Leopold-Land Ethic and "Thinking Like a Mountain"

Here in Wisconsin, Aldo Leopold, for whom the Aldo Leopold Center in BAraboo is named for, was, and still is a leader in conservation science. For my ecology class, we recently read a few excerpts of his writing, i found it to be some of the most interesting writing i have ever seen. Hi all, I am a junior at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. I heard about this website on Facebook. I am a biology major, with a specialization in environmental biology. I hope to one day work for the DNR or EPA or other government organization doing land conservation work or some sort of wildlife or resource management research. If you are interested in returning acres let me know. There is much more to it than it may first appear.

Most biologist end up working for people and not the natural landscape. Ask yourself the question over and over again "is what I'm doing helping the natural world or is it helping people" (i.e. building nature centers and trails for people, forestry, agriculture, etc).
